林业推广学是林学专业学科基础选修课。它是指通过有效的沟通、传播和教育培训，使广大的林业生产者或管理者获得从生产到林区发展的相关信息、知识和技术。课程主要内容包括：推广的基本概念；推广模式简介；推广的基础理论（认知、态度、行为改变、激励、创新传播）；推广中的成人教育原理；组织管理理论；推广计划或项目制定、评估的基本原则和方法。学习本课程的目的就是了解、熟悉或掌握沟通、传播以及教育培训相关的理论、原理和方法，提高林业科技和知识的推广效率和效益。在教学过程，林业推广学教学将纳入大的“农业推广学”范畴，以便学生能把推广学核心的理论与方法运用在实际农村发展中。 Forestry extension is a basic elective course. Forestry extension is about the process of disseminating the information, knowledge and technologies to the producer，workers or managers relating to the forest development, through communication，training or education and provision of the advisory services. The content of the course includes the basic concepts of extension, extension models concerned, theories and perceptions related to extension (perceptions, attitude, behavior change, motivation, and innovation diffusion), adult education principles, organization management, extension project management and evaluation. Through the study of the course, the students are supposed to know and grasp the basic principles, theories and methods in communication, education, and training, by making use of which, the forestry knowledge, techniques and ideas can be effectively diffused.
