森林生态学是林学专业的专业基础课，也是林学专业的必修课。本课程主要讲授森林植物之间，森林植物、森林群落与其周围环境之间的相互关系。具体内容包括森林与环境的相互关系、森林生物种群结构与动态、森林群落结构与演替、森林分布规律与特征、森林生态系统结构与功能、生物多样性保护与途径等基本原理以及与森林资源密切相关的一些生态环境问题。要求学生重点掌握森林与环境之间相互作用的基本规律，理解森林生物种群与森林群落的结构及动态变化规律，以及森林生态系统的结构与功能。通过整合森林生态学的基本概念和基本原理，运用生态学知识解决林业生产中存在的实际问题。 Forest Ecology is a basic course for Forestry Specialties, and also an obligatory course for students majoring in Forestry. The course mainly deals with the interactions among forest plants, and those between forest plants and the surrounding environment, concrete contents include the important roles forests play, relationship between forests and environment, and basic concepts and principals of biological population of forests, structure of forest communities, forest succession, forest distribution, forest ecosystems as well as eco-environmental issues closely relevant to forest resources. The course is intended to make students understand the principles of the interactions between forests and the environment, master the basic concepts and principles of Forest Ecology, and apply ecological knowledge to solve the practical problems existing in forestry production.
