It is one of the professional foundation courses for the direction of food science and engineering, food quality and safety. The background of Food packaging is all kinds of basic and specialized courses. It is covering food chemistry, materials science, food machinery, microbial and food technology and other knowledge points. Main topics include: basic concepts of packaging, overview of food packaging materials, paper packaging materials and products, glass, ceramic packaging materials and products, the applications of plastic in food packaging, metal packaging materials and products, basic technical and methods of food packaging and equipment, various methods of food packaging. Through this course students can make clear of the status and role of food packaging in food processing, master the basic procedures for food packaging and technical methods of food packaging overall, so that students can understand the close contact between technology and packaging science, master the basic knowledge of packaging material and packaging technologies, and have the preliminary ability of food packaging and design.
